Cardinal Crew Leader Candidate Selection Process
The process to being selected as Cardinal Crew Leader will be 4 fold.
1. Coaches will rank prospects based on current & past experiences.
3. SSC Administration Ranking.
4. Previous season CCL following interviews. 2021 Seniors for 2022 CCL’s.
ESSAY for Teacher/Coaches: Will be shared to only Coach Stein via Google Document. Essay format. Names will be removed (or blacked out) when given to the Essay Committee Review. Essays are due to Coach Stein Monday, November 4th at 10:00 pm. Maximum length is 2 pages double spaced. Essays will be scored and ranked on overall Idea, convention and organization. Write and score these as if applying for a PROFESSIONAL job across the country. Grammar, punctuation and overall content should be perfect (Great attention to detail).
The essay’s MAY be shared with the entire team so consider your responses carefully.
Potential topics you may want to cover in your essay. This is a guide. You are not limited to these.
1. Why do you want to be a Cardinal Crew Leader?
2. What makes you a good Cardinal Crew Leader Candidate? What unique qualities will you bring?
3. What ideas do you have to motivate/praise/push/pull your Cardinal Crew?
4. What are you going to do if you have a Cardinal Crew Member that is not putting out the effort needed?
5. What are you going to do when times get tough in the middle of the summer/season?
6. How are you going to hold yourself and each member of your crew accountable?
7. What did your previous season CCL do well/poor during the Spring, Summer and In-Season?
8. What improvements would you make to the Culture of SSC? How would you do this?
ADMINISTRATORS Ranking: The 4 High School Administrators will rank each candidate on current and past experiences. Multiplier x1.
INTERVIEW with Last Years CCL’s: A maximum of 12 Candidates after the first 3 rounds (Coach, Essay and Administration ranking) will be interviewed. During the interview you will be expected to dress up in professional attire. Interview date is set for Thursday, November 7th at SSC from 6:30-9:00 pm. You will interview with last years Cardinal Crew Leaders in Little Theatre. Each interview will be approximately 10 minutes. SSC Alum ___________ will be in the room to oversee the interview. For 2022, interviews will be conducted by the previous years Seniors.
